Sculptures Located in Singapore Botanic Gardens Wow Visitors

Donated artwork abounds in Singapore’s Botanic Gardens Unexpected artistic surprises await you as you wander the paths throughout the park. The Gardens contain many free standing sculptures which add life and whimsical humor to the gardens natural beauty.

There are bronzes depicting family every day events. Smiles abound on the faces of visitors who notice the “Girl on a Swing” with the girl dressed in local flavored attire. The placement in the gardens is as whimsical as the sculptures.

Whimsical Bronze Sculptures Given as Gifts to the Botanic Gardens give Daily Pleasure to Visitors

The provocative “Lady on a Hammock” or the sweet “Swing Me Mama” tucked amongst the foliage of the garden surprises visitors as they walk the meandering paths. The “Girl on a Bicycle” who appears to be riding along on the top of a hedge brings a smile to all of those who remember riding a bicycle as a child! The “Swing Me Mama” is my favorite! The mother is sculpted as an action figure swinging her baby high above her head! Mothers who have experienced the joy of playing with their children in this way enjoy the preciousness of the moment.

Amsterdam’s White Mute Swans grace Swan Lake and Enjoy Making Friends with Bronzed Sculptures of their Likeness

There are also bronzed ducks scattered naturally around the shore of Swan Lake mixing in with the vegetation but also befriending the unknowing White Mute Swans from Amsterdam. The Swiss Granite fountain has a prominent place in the garden is an irresistible draw for the children. The ever revolving stone ball fascinates visitors of all ages and creates conversation among those who gather around it.

The Sun Dial Garden Boasts a Quiet Place Raised Above the Rest of the Botanical Garden.

Climbing stairs from 4 different locations into this quiet garden brings a fresh surprise. Romanesque statues grace this garden and seating is plentiful. Shaded by vine covered overhangs this garden oasis is way from the busy paths. Quietness abounds here. The Sun Dial is centered in the middle of the courtyard, keeping time with the help of the sun.

For those who enjoy surprises the Botanic Garden of Singapore provides just that with its playful presentation of gifted art which stand the test of time and brings enjoyment to all of the gardens visitors in an unexpected way that only the medium of art can touch the soul!
