In order to prevent grass from seeping nutrients from the soil and water, grass should be removed in a four-foot diameter circle prior to planting the tree.

Plum Tree

Known as a stone fruit tree, the flowers of the plum tree are distinctive in that they are grouped together on short tree stems. Plum trees need sunlight, but will endure some shade. One way to prevent competition for moisture is to plant these trees away from other trees in well drained soil containing humas .

Persimmon Tree

The persimmon tree can grow up to 50 feet high and 30 feet wide. As long as it has well drained soil, this tree is not particular about where it’s planted. It can withstand high temperatures and humidity, but needs water to produce healthy fruit.

Cherry Tree

Cherry trees need to be planted in well drained earth as they do not do well in wet soil. Most don’t self-pollinate and should be planted near another cherry tree. Cherry trees must be properly pruned and guarded against the risk of disease. Failing to do so guarantees a short life span.
