This is easy to make and impresses guests.
Mix together in a non-stick saucepan: 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 3 tbsp corn starch. Boil until thickened, stirring continually. Remove from heat.
Add 4 tbsp strawberry jello powder to mixture and stir.
Add 2 cups sliced strawberries. Pour into a pre-baked pie shell. Chill and serve with whipped cream.
